  • Use the USB cable to connect your iPhone 5 to your computer.
  • You’ll need to disable Passcode. Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  • You’ll also need to turn off Find my iPhone. Navigate to Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone.
  • Find the Taig exe file on your computer, right click on it, and choose the option to Run as administrator.
  • Taig will recognize your iPhone 5, and when it does, the firmware version needs to be the right one – 8.1.2.
  • You’ll notice two checkboxes: Cydia 1.1.16 (leave it the way it is, checked), and the other one in Chinese, uncheck it. When you do that, a window will appear. Click on the X.
  • Next, click on the green button.
  • The jailbreak will start and when it’s finished, your phone will reboot.
  • The Cydia icon will be on your home screen, so you’ll be able to download the apps you want.
  • The last step is to turn on Find my iPhone and to enable Passcode.

  • Double click on the PP file, to open it.
  • Your iPhone 5 will be detected, and the firmware version should be correct, which is 8.1.2.
  • In the PP window, you will see the checkbox. Make sure to uncheck it.
  • Click on the button located in the center of the window. Next, you’ll see two new buttons. Make sure to click on the one located on the right side, and when you do, the jailbreak will start.
  • Once it’s finished, your iPhone 5 will automatically reboot, and Cydia icon will be located on the Home screen.
  • The last step is to turn on Find my iPhone and to enable Passcode.
