ASUS will launch the Zenfone 3 smartphone series during Computex 2016, but the first images are already surfing the internet. Although these images were not released by ASUS, nor does it describe the final devices, the design is in line with the information that has been leaked until now.
Zenfone 3 in its standard shape will be a smartphone made of glass and aluminum. It will be covered on both sides with curved glass, the back being decorated with a model of concentric circles, similar to other “Zen” devices. The volume buttons are now on the left side and the power button has been moved on the top edge on the right-hand side.
On the back, underneath the camera, there’s an integrated fingerprint sensor and three capacitive buttons. The camera seems to stand out in relief, according to the photos, suggesting that it will integrate a system of optical stabilization. Zenfone 3 will be equipped with a dual-tone flash and a laser sensor which will assist the focus when taking photos.
Zenfone 3 Deluxe tackles a slightly different design. The capacitive Home button will be replaced with a physical button, which integrates a fingerprint sensor. The power button stays on the right side, and the back will be covered entirely with aluminium. Unfortunately, there are no photos from other angles with this model, but, the lack of volume buttons on the right side suggests that they will be attached to the back of the device, under the camera, just like Zenfone 2. This design suggests that the back of the phone will not be covered by plastic strips for antennas, ASUS following to address an innovative design for the radio reception.
Early this summer we will find out if these are indeed the new Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe when ASUS will launch a new range of mobile devices during the technology fair in Taipei.
