In a recent announcement, Xiaomi has revealed that it will launch a new Mi-series smartphone in the coming week. The company tweeted on Monday that the recently teased Mi 9T will be making its debut on June 12. It is yet to be disclosed by Xiaomi whether it will be hosting an event in China or some other place to unveil the phone or it will just be an online launch.
Mi 9T was earlier believed to be a refurbished version of Redmi K20 for the international markets, and that seems to be turning out to be true as a few tech blogs have confirmed the codename of the phone to be ‘davinci’ in Geekbench listing of Mi 9T, which is the same codename assigned to Redmi K20. Xiaomi tweets, “Only 10 days left! The new #Mi 9 member will launch on June 12th! Are you ready for more innovation for everyone from #Mi 9T?”

Xiaomi Mi 9T handset specifications
Only a few details are revealed about the Mi 9T at this point, however, Xiaomi’s teasers have displayed that the phone will be housing a pop-up selfie camera. Moreover, an image of the phone’s back shared by the company demonstrates three rear cameras with an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone is missing, so we can expect to see the in-display fingerprint sensor on the Mi 9T.
The Chinese giant has been asking its followers to infer what T stands for in the Mi 9T and it is quite possible that T is for Turbo here. Therefore, it is confirmed that Xiaomi is planning to launch a Redmi K20 as Mi 9T, which will jettison the waterdrop-style notch for a pop-up selfie camera company and add a few other new features.

A couple of purported images of Mi 9T retail box appeared online last week, which seemed to advocate the existence of Snapdragon 730 SoC, 4000 mAh battery, 6.39-inch full-HD+ screen, and 48-megapixel primary camera on the smartphone. A complete clarity will be given to us by the next week. Online sources claim that the handset has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display, 20 MP pop-up front camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging support.
The Mi 9T is anticipated to be ushered by a Pro model, which will be a re-branded K20 Pro. It has been revealed that the K20 and K20 Pro are also anticipated to debut as Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro respectively, in some markets.
