Android Nougat distribution across the mobile devices that support it is at an all-time low according to the latest Google statistics. In fact, in 2012 when Google started tracking these details, we had Android Jelly Bean which managed to roll out to as much as 60% of devices in the span of over one year. Then Android KitKat, the following installment, sat comfortably at a percentage of 40% in distribution, which isn’t as impressive as Jelly Bean’s performance, but still pretty decent.
Well, it all went downhill from there unfortunately. Android Lollipop saw just 23% in distribution, and Marshmallow even less. And the current version, Android Nougat is doing the worst out of all of them over the past five years. Still, there are some devices still getting Nougat in the wake of Android O’s release, and the most recent addition to the list is Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Just in Greece
If you’re a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 user, then this is your moment to rejoice. But there is a catch to this update though: it’s only available in Greece at the moment. So if you live anywhere else, you can only hope that Android 7.0 Nougat will also come to your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in a timely fashion. In the meantime, we’ve observed how the new update to Nougat for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 looks on Greek devices, and we’re ready to share that with you.
The Nougat update for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone weighs in at a total of 1.3GB and it brings all the Nougat features to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. If you receive it, make sure that your phone is at least halfway charged before proceeding with the installation. The update is quite hefty.
