When it comes to affordable smartphones, customers can always rely on the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi. Those two companies are constantly releasing new handheld devices which are somehow equipped with impressive hardware specs and affordable prices at the same time. With that said, today we are going to compare Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 and Samsung’s Galaxy J2 Ace which are two of the best affordable smartphones ever made.

Price

First off, we need to mention that both smartphones were released in early 2016. Although, this is not the reason why they are competing on a daily basis. The reason why these two smartphones are always faced against each other is because their price tags are quite similar. Galaxy J2 Ace costs $124 while Redmi Note 3 is priced at $154. Without any further ado, let’s see what kind of difference $30 makes.

Hardware Power

In a world filled with smartphones, hardware power is what really matters, and it also sets premium devices apart from low-end ones. Nonetheless, the more expensive Redmi Note 3 is fueled by Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 650 CPU. This processor clocks at 1.8GHz and its paired with an Adreno 510 GPU alongside 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of expandable internal storage space, depending on the acquired variant.

Samsung equipped Galaxy J2 Ace with a quad-core CPU that clocks at the much lower speed of 1.4GHz. However, that’s not all since Galaxy J2 Ace’s processor is also paired with a lower amount of 1.5GB RAM. Lastly, the smartphone is packed with 8GB of expandable storage space.

Final Thoughts

From the looks of it, the $30 price difference Xiaomi is charging for Redmi Note 3 is totally worth it. Redmi Note 3 is certainly the superior smartphone and its hardware performance blows Galaxy J2 Ace out of the water.
