Xiaomi has released its Redmi 4a device back in November 2016 while the Redmi 4X has hit the stores in February 2017. Today we will compare these two devices and let you decide which one of them is best for you.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a measures 139.9×70.4×8.5mm and weights 131.5 grams. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 4X measures 151x76x8.5mm and weights 165 grams. The two phones have almost the same design (rear camera in the upper left corner and two slim lines at the top and bottom of the back), but actually, the Redmi 4a has a polycarbonate body (Gold, Rose Gold, Dark Gray), while the Redmi 4X is made of metal (Black, Gold) and has a fingerprint scanner.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a has an IPS LCD display of 5-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 296 ppi. The Xiaomi Redmi 4X has a bigger IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a higher resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4a features a Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, an Adreno 308 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi 4X has a better Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2GHz, an Adreno 506 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB, while the Xiaomi Redmi 4X comes in larger internal storage options of 32GB and 64GB. However, you can expand the storage on both devices up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The two devices sport a primary camera of 13MP that features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4a has a non-removable battery of 3120 mAh, while the Xiaomi Redmi 4X has a more powerful non-removable battery of 4100 mAh.
