Xiaomi is one of the top competitors on the mobile market, with a wide range of phones that are both affordable and that also have the desired specs for the set price. Today we will be talking about some devices that the Chinese company is going to release very soon. We will be giving you all of the details that we have at our disposal about them. Tune in to find out more, including possible set release dates.
Xiaomi is soon going to celebrate its eighth anniversary at the end of this month. This means that the anniversary event would be the perfect time to launch a new device to mark this new milestone in the company’s evolution. We know that the company is going to use this event to release two new devices, but we do not yet know their names. However, we have from one of these devices, and we are going to talk more about it.
We believe that the Xiaomi Mi 7 and Mi 8 will be announced at the very same time. Mi 8 is going to be the device that will be the start of the anniversary event, so we think. The Mi 7 is believed to be the upgrade from last year’s Mi 6 phone.
Speaking of the renders of one of these phones, we believe that the information that surfaced is about the Mi 8. So, going on this line of thought, we think that the Mi 8 is going to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 as the processor. It is going to have at least 6GB of RAM as well. We also heard that the phone would have an in-display fingerprint sensor but do take this rumor with a pinch of salt since almost every device that was released in the last year was said to come with this feature, but as of now, none have.
Top notch display
Xiaomi has undoubtedly put a lot of work into Mi 8. A phone that marks a milestone is always going to come packed with a broad set of features and specs to boot so that users will be happy. One of the images renders that have surfaced online about Mi 8 reveals to everyone that it will come with a top notch. Love it, hate it, this design has become widespread and also very useful in housing some sensors all together in one place on the upper part of the display.
The notch is bigger than the ones that Huawei P20 Pro or OnePlus 6 have, being very similar to the one on Apple’s iPhone X. Xiaomi Mi 8 is said to be the first smartphone on the market to come with 3D facial recognition technology. How can this be possible? Well, it is all possible due to a sensor that is placed in the top notch.
This module includes a dot projector, a front-facing camera, an earpiece, an ambient light sensor, an Infrared sensor and a proximity sensor. The 3D facial recognition technology will use all of these sensors. Now, if the rumors are true and Xiaomi will be able to pull of this technology then expect other major companies to follow in its footsteps. This means that if Xiaomi is the first to do it, then we will inevitably see Samsung, Google and even Huawei try to create a similar technology or adapt Xiaomi’s one.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3
Yes, Xiaomi is going to host a launch event at the end of this month, and we are ready to see the Chinese company released some new devices. Among them, we have mentioned the Xiaomi Mi 7 and Mi 8, but that is not all. The company is also expected to launch a next-generation fitness band at this event which is called the Mi Band 3. Apart from these three, we are also waiting to see Xiaomi Mi Max 3 be released.
We are basing this statement on the fact that Xiaomi released the Mi Max 2 last year during May. The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, has said that Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is expected to be launched sometime during July, not May. So, we may not see the device appear on the line up of this event, but we will still like to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Since we mentioned Xiaomi Mi Max 3, we will also like to tell you all that we know so far about the device’s specs. The size of the display is going to be a staggering 6.99-inch Full HD+. The device is said to have a 5,500mAh battery which will support Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. It will also have Qi wireless charging and a supposed iris scanner for more security.
We can also expect to see the device come with dual cameras on the back and no headphone jack. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is going to have in two variants. One of them will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636, with 3GB of Ram and 64GB of internal storage whereas the other variant will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128Gb of internal storage.
Speaking of cameras, the dual ones on the back are said to follow either Sony’s IMX636 or Samsung’s S5K217+S5K5E8 module. On we are expecting to see Samsung’s S6K4H7 sensor, and for the iris scanner, we think we will see OmniVisions’OV2281 one.
