Xbox One might reach PS4 in sales due to a new release of 12 titles over the next 12 months. The new Microsoft Xbox One system update could tighten the sales gap due to its ability to cut download times and to save hard drive space.
Intelligent Delivery by Microsoft
This new feature created by Microsoft has game content split into chunks, which will allow gamers to download the chunk they need to play and save hard drive space.
This also implies that the size of the chunks will be smaller than 100GB and the download time will also be shorter. In the end gamers receive more space and less waiting time.
The new Intelligent Delivery system will help those who own the Xbox One console to choose if they want or not to download the 4K assets for Xbox One X. This could save a lot of hard drive space. This ability also allows users to decide which language they want and thus removing the need to download the entire multi-language package.
It could be a November launch
It is still not known when Intelligent Delivery update will be released for the Xbox console, but considering Xbox One X will launch in November, everyone is expecting the new update to be released at the same time as well.
Another benefit of the new update is that players get to delete ay game mode they are not using anymore, for example multiplayer or level editor. This saves even more hard-drive space.
Xbox One and Xbox One X consoles support multi-disc release, with all essential games in disc one and additional content on subsequent discs. This means a total of 15 discs of content, even if so far there is only the option for two disc mastering.
