Vivo to Launch Vivo Z5x Smartphone with A Punch-Hole Display

Vivo has confirmed the launch of its new Smartphone Vivo Z5x on the 24th of May at 7.30 pm in China. The company had also launched the Vivo Z3x at the start of the month, an upgrade to the Vivo Z1. The official announcements confirm the long-standing speculation of a new Z-series phone.

The launch poster carried no details of the phone specs, the company is tight-lipped in giving out the details. However, a few images of the phone have been leaked. The leaked images have raised speculation that the phone has a non-removable battery of 5000 mAh.

To know the complete specifications, pricing and availability of the phone, we will have to wait for a few days.

Estimated Specs of the Vivo Z5x

The Vivo Z5x is Vivo’s first Smartphone with a punch-hole display. The phone is supposedly powered by the 10 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. The device is also expected to be supported by 18W fast charging and a battery of 5000mAh. The thickness of the phone will range about 8mm. The display of the phone will have a Full HD+ resolution with  6.53-inch Super AMOLED display. For charging, hopes are set higher on the USB Type-C port rather than a traditional Micro USB 2.0 port.

The smartphone will have a 13MP + 2MP dual camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, the phone has a 16MP front-facing camera.

The 3C certification agency in China has certified the V1911A variant of the phone. The Vivo Z5x has also been listed on, which indicated that the phone will have a high resolution. The list points out that the phone will have a configuration of  4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB.

The mid-range chipset has been combined with an 8 GB RAM, a 6 GB variant is a possibility too. The software of the phone is expected to be running on the  Android 9 Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.

Vivo Z5x has obtained 1,848 points in the single-core test and 5,915 points in the multi-core test in Geekbench. Thus, keeping it at par with the other smartphones of a similar chipset.

The e-commerce platform enumerated the listed color options for the phone as Phantom Black and Extreme Night Black. The phone is rumored to come in gradient colors with a glossy finish polycarbonate body. The phone is expected to be priced between CNY 1500 and CNY 2000.

There has been no news of the phone being launched and sold outside China. However, a new landing page has been made live on the company’s website.
