In a recent series of events, Smartphone brand Vivo confirmed the release of its upcoming next-gen NEX series smartphone – Vivo NEX 3, in China this month. The phone is Vivo’s most highly anticipated model yet, and also one of the most highly anticipated phones of 2019. A lot of eyes are set on this phone, as it could be the boost Vivo needs to come back into the race which it seems to have been dwindling in for the last few months. So far, quite a few features of the phone have been leaked on the internet, however, in a new leak, the full set of its specifications have been leaked weeks ahead of its launch.
Full specifications of Vivo Nex 3 and Nex 3 5G
According to reports, Vivo will be launching the Vivo NEX 3 in 2 variants – a normal one, and a 5G variant. The only feature that separates the two phones is 5G connectivity, apart from which all features and specifications are exactly the same. Both the phones will have the industry-leading Full HD AMOLED ‘Waterfall’ display, with a 6.89-inch display panel that has a screen resolution of 2256 x 1080 pixels. The new display will offer users a 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio with immersive user experience. It is not known so far what refresh rate the phone’s display will have, although users can expect a 90Hz display panel.
The display panel will also have a fast in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone is packed with power, with the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, coupled with a powerful octa-core processor under the hood. The 5G variant of NEX 3 has an additional Snapdragon X50 chip for an enhanced 5G connectivity on the phone.
Vivo NEX 3 also has a great triple-lens camera setup going on for itself in the rear side, which comes with a 64-MP main sensor, and two other camera sensors, both of 13MP resolution- one for ultra-wide angles, and another for depth effects. The front camera is a nice 16-megapixel lens that clicks great selfies and is handy for video shooting as well as video calling. The NEX 3 will be released in 2 RAM variants – 8 GB and 12 GB RAM – along with 3 internal storage variants of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB each. Vivo has stayed with the good old 3.5mm headphone jack and the phone will have no shortage of juice with the massive 4,500 mAh battery in it. Oh, and it even has 44W fast charging support.
With the phone’s launch date set to be in late September, and the kind of specs these leaked reports are suggesting, the phone has a fair chance of bringing Vivo back in the game. It’s noteworthy that the NEX 3’s predecessor NEX 1 was the first phone in the world with a pop-up camera, while the NEX 2 came with 2 displays. Let’s hope NEX 3 does the trick again and manages to keep up with the legacy of Vivo’s next-generation NEX series. Stay tuned for updates on the Vivo NEX 3!
