As the drones are becoming increasingly popular, we hear several cases of people who suffer because of them. Aalborg University shows us a few video clips that explain what happens if you touch the propeller of a drone when on.

Although these are presented as useful and easy-to-handle fun gadgets, the truth is that the drones are quite dangerous, especially that these are devices able to fly at high speeds and have unprotected propellers. Just look for the drone owners who do not care about low battery alerts and you can see the drones simply fall from the sky.

The Aalborg University researchers wanted to see the effects of a drone propeller on a human body, so they tested the impact over a pork chunk.

The researchers used for the experiment several types of propellers. The results vary, and the drones with carbon fiber propeller proved very dangerous if it is to judge after the clips.

The researchers will not stop here. They want to test the effects of a drone over the windows or over the cars.

This is not the first time someone wants to see if the drones have the potential to be lethal. The guys from Mythbusters ran a similar experiment and they concluded that the small drones are almost inoffensive, but the drones used for professional videos, for example, might even kill a person if it were to hit in a sensitive area such as the neck.

Although real life is a bit different from the laboratory, the researchers’ examination could lead to the creation of less dangerous drones.
