Pixel phones are innovative models developed by Google. Every new model in the Pixel line comes with a new set of features. It has also been noted that even though every model has some excellent technology present within, there has always been some significant bugs being reported. The latest models from the Pixel line, namely the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL have not escaped this. A significant bug is being reported by most of the users for these models. The phones seem to randomly shut down when in idle mode.

A lot of users had taken to various forums to complain that they experience random shutdowns of the phone. Any particular source of the shutdown could not be pinpointed. Some people took to testing the phone to find out the cause of these shutdowns. By starting the phone in safe mode, the third-party apps were suspended. Despite suspending other party apps, the phone continued to behave erratically and shut down in the middle of nowhere. This made the users suspect the problem to be from within the phone and not related to third-party apps.

A few users also reported that the problem could be related to Wi-Fi connectivity as they experienced these incidents while being connected to the Wi-Fi. The company has not yet confirmed the cause of these issues. Users are returning these phones and hoping that the problem would be solved soon. The phone, after being shut down, does not start at the press of the power button. A hard reset is required every time to power on the phone.  The users find this to be a significant bug in the new phone.

Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL were only launched less than a week ago and the problems cropping up seem to be a significant deterrent to the buyers. The company is currently working on identifying the source of this issue and trying to resolve it. Since these phones are powered by Google software and hardware, such issues are unexpected. The phones should work seamlessly due to the advanced level of technologies being used. The Pixel 3a has a 5.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of  1,080 x 2,220 pixels. The camera is also top notch with the ability to click amazing and vivid images. The phones run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chip. If this issue is resolved, these models are sure to be one of the best models in the market.
