Twitter App Is No Longer Available For Apple Watch

Twitter has removed its Apple Watch app from the Apple Store. If you updated Twitter on your iPhone, you’ll notice there is no Twitter app on your Watch.

Twitter released an update for their iOS app. The latest version of the app, 7.8, brings a fix for a photo bug. But that’s not all. It also removed Twitter’s app for the Apple Watch from the App Store, Mac Rumors reports.

Many users have noticed that Apple Watch app vanished from the App Store as soon they updated a Twitter app on their iPhones.

A few days before the app vanished from the Apple Store, some users reported an issue saying the app keeps crashing after the release of Watch OS 4. In addition, people said the app was having troubles displaying Twitter icon.

The app is no longer in the App Store. Will it be up again? That is not clear just yet.

Twitter gave a statement to TechCrunch, but we can’t say the response provides any clarity on why the company removed the app, or will the app be up and running again.

“We heard from people that notifications were the most helpful part of the Apple Watch Twitter experience. With this, we are focusing on supporting more robust, media-rich notifications. We are committed to providing the very best Twitter experience on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch, and we’ll continue to iterate and improve our apps across all platforms.”

Apple Watch Twitter app allowed users to see recent tweets and trends. Users could also tweet right from the Watch using a voice-to-text feature. That is no longer possible. And at the moment, no one knows if Twitter will revive the app.

Earlier this year, some other companies also removed their Apple Watch apps, such as Google, Amazon, eBay, Trip Advisor and Target.
