I broke my z3 a couple of months ago and went to prrice a screen replacement. In the past, with other phones, it's been cheaper to repair that pay the deductible. When my tech told me the glass alone was $250 not including labor, my jaw hit the floor. He said it's because of the Bravia technology Sony uses. Does anyone have any idea what makes it so special?
The panel is dust and scratch resistant so it's normal to cost more than your normal glass. That being said, the phone is also waterproof so the labor plus materials will cost more. Bravia is an acronym for "Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture". They have a special architecture which is supposed to make them superior than the standard LCD panels.
