What is the meaning clock speed of a processor ?

    I see 1.5 GHz or 2.0 Ghz, what is this gigahertz,
    I wonder why is there a clock speed of a mobile, What’s the use of a clock in a mobile, if there is one ?

    The clock speed of a processor executes instructions, this means the better the clock rate the faster the mobile

    Sorry i meant this tells that at what speed does the processor executes instructions

    The above post sums it up pretty much, the better the clock speed, the faster the phone, well, on paper anyway.

    You might find that, with a lot of phones anyway, the clock speed is based on the bench testing of the actual processor in perfect conditions, in a testing lab at peak temperature and other ideal factors.

    In the real world you'll be lucky to get anywhere near what the official speed is but with most smartphones these days, with competition being as it is, you'll find that nearly every phone you can buy will do the job adequately enough and I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers.
