So you went ahead and bought yourself one of the best iPhones in the market i.e. the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus have been one of the most advanced mobile phones available out there. But even these so-called perfect mobile phones are not completely free of small imperfections. There are still some minor flaws and issues in the phone. One such issue is the iPhone 6 headphone problem. In this issue, your iPhone 6 gets stuck in the headphone mode even when you have actually plugged the headphones out.

This problem is not just of iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus but can also be seen in other devices such as iPad. So if you have had this problem in your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus or any other device then this is the post for you. Here we will tell you some ways to fix the iPhone 6 headphone issue.

We have also discussed the fixes of other iPhone 6 problems such as cracked screen issue, random restarting issue etc. in our other posts.

You might be thinking that there is some hardware issue that is causing the problem. You might also be thinking that something inside the phone might be broken. But it’s certainly not the case and we are going to give you some ways which can solve this iPhone 6 headphone problem.

Ways to fix iPhone 6 headphone problem

    Method 1: cotton Swab method

There might be a case when this error is because of some dust particles that are stuck up inside the headphone jack slot. So what you can do is to blow some air inside the audio jack point. If you have a case on your iPhone 6 then make sure that you remove it before doing this step. After this take a cotton swab or something soft and thin that can go inside the headphone jack hole and insert this cotton swab into the headphone jack slot. Now clean this slot by moving the cotton swab in and out. Again blow some air in the jack slot. Put your headphone jack inside the slot after wiping the jack as well. Now remove the jack and put it inside again. You should repeat this for about 4-5 times and this would be able to solve the issue.

    Method 2: Wooden toothpick method

There might also be a case when the issue occurs because there is some moisture trapped inside the headphone jack slot. So if the previous method of cotton swab hasn’t solved the issue then you can go ahead with trying this method.

First of all, check if the mute mode in the phone is activated or not. There is a headphone sensor in the audio jack port that can detect when the headphones are inserted. If the mute mode is activated, turn it off. After that, insert the headphone jack into the port firmly and remove it. Do this for 3-4 times. After this just use compressed air to clean the port for any kind of dust particles. Don’t blow air from mouth as it contains moisture. Then insert a wooden toothpick inside the headphone jack slot. This will remove the moisture from the slot. Now turn up the volume and restart the phone. This should solve the problem.

    Method 3: Hard reset

Another method that will solve the issue is to do a hard reset of your iPhone 6. This can be done by pressing the power button and the home button simultaneously. This will turn off the phone. After the phone is turned off wait for a few minutes and turn it on again in the same manner as you turned the phone off.

    Method 4

If none of the methods described above don't solve the problem with your iPhone 6 then don’t try anything else. The least resort would be to take it to an official Apple Store. The Apple’s technician would see the phone and would fix it up for you.
