When i connect Sensation to my laptop it does'nt give me an option to select the connection type, it's just charging, I've set it to ask me the connection type in the menu but still it happens this way, When connected to PC, i don't see any icon in the notification area.

Can you tell me a fix, i'll give you a good video chat if it works right.

    Hi cinnamon

I can't tell you how much am i looking forward to our video chat

    Try this:
    • Long press add to home screen
    • Go to shortcuts
    • Then activities
    • Then scroll down to Settings

there you'd find USB computer connection( something like com.android.settings.usbsettings) . Tap it you'll get a shortcut. Select mtp.
Turn it on and then connect it to your computer and tell what you get.

Try another USB port of your laptop and make sure there is no dust on both ends.

There could be many reasons for this, first it could be that the cable is designed only for charging and not data transfer. The cable could be faulty, sometimes when they get a little old they can be dodgy!

Your USB could be faulty, have you tried more than one USB socket?

Lastly is either of your devices a Mac? My Android devices will only charge when plugged into my Macbook air, nothing else.
