There are many problems that may occur when using your Nexus 6. You may notice the lag, problems with third-party apps, or something else. You can always find a couple of solutions that may fix the issue, and usually, factory reset is listed as one of them. By performing factory data reset, all the files you stored on your smartphone, settings you have modified and set just the way you wanted, and all your third-party apps will be deleted. So, when this is done, the device will be set to its original state, it will get a fresh start and it will perform better. Factory reset is a good option if you are planning to sell or give your device to someone else so the new owner can use the phone without your apps, personal settings and data. Before you start with the factory data reset, it is essential to backup your data and everything that is important to you as everything will be deleted. When you do that, make sure your device is charged or you can connect it to a power source as the process can last for a while. Then, follow a few simple steps below:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Backup & reset
    • Click on Factory data reset
    • Tap Reset phone
    • If you set a screen lock on your Nexus 6, you will have to enter the password, pin or pattern
    • Tap Erase everything
    • When the process is completed, select the "Restart" option
That's it! Your device will now have the factory settings and only the pre-installed apps so it will perform better.
