All HTC smartphones work pretty well and users are generally satisfied. Every now and then someone will report a problem, but that's the case with all the smartphones because no matter how good they are, the issues and bugs can always occur. When it comes to HTC One M7, there have been some usual reports about the common problems such as GPS, Wi-Fi, lag or poor battery life. If you own this device one of the things you should know how to do is factory reset. In case you ever experience a problem (and we hope that will never happen), factory reset is often listed as one of the solutions, especially when one of the third-party apps causes the problem and you are not sure which one. By performing a factory data reset on your device, all third-party apps will be deleted, along with the personal settings, app settings and data you stored on your device. Your device will go back to its initial factory settings. You should backup your data first. Let's see how to factory reset HTC One M7.

How to factory reset HTC One M7

There are two methods to perform factory data reset on your HTC One M7, and we are going to show you both.

Method No.1: Factory data reset through Settings

You can perform factory data reset with a few clicks, and here is how:

    • Navigate to Settings
    • Tap on Backup & Reset
    • Tap on Reset Phone and then click OK

Method No.2: Factory data reset using the hardware buttons

While the first option is super simple, it is not always possible, especially in situations when the screen of your device is unresponsive. In that case, you can use the hardware buttons. Do the following:

    • Turn off your HTC One M7
    • Press and hold the Power button and the Volume down key
    • Keep holding the buttons until you see the Android logo on the screen, release the Volume down key
    • Use the Volume down key to highlight Factory Reset, and select it with the Power button.
That is all, and as you can see, both methods are really simple.
