How to disable Nexus encryption?

Is there a way to disable encryption? Can it be made to ask for a pin at boot but pattern lock for normal unlocking?

    Hello MultoMIMI, as far as

Hello MultoMIMI, as far as I know, disabling encryption on your Nexus 9 will have no benefits to you. THis is because The N9 uses a hardware-backed key store (based on ARM TrustZone technology), which is partly why its able to enable encryption without a passcode.

Aaaaand it also makes use of ARMv8 AES, which allows fast and energy-efficient crypto operations. Basically, there shouldn't be a performance or battery hit.
