When you buy a new Android smartphone or tablet, one of the first apps you will download is Facebook. On some devices, Facebook is among the pre-installed apps. It works really well most of the time, but as it is the case with other apps, some users experienced some problems with it. There are complaints such as Facebook stopped working, Facebook keeps freezing, As soon as I open Facebook it crashes, and so on. Facebook is one of the favorite apps for many Android users, and these kinds of problems are among the most irritating ones. Let's see how to fix Facebook issues on Android.

How to fix Facebook issues on Android

Make sure Facebook app is up to date

The best place to start solving the problem is by making sure the app is up to date. Open the Play Store, tap on three horizontal lines and then click on "My apps & games". Find Facebook on the list of apps (you will see all applications under Installed section), and if needs to be updated, tap on it and install the latest version.

    Clear cache and data

If the app is up to date, the next step is to clear app cache and data. It is a simple thing to do.

To clear app cache: go to Settings > Apps (App Manager, Application Manager on some Android devices), find Facebook, tap on it and then tap clear cache.

To clear app data: go to Settings > Apps (App manager, Application Manager on some Android smartphones and tablets), find Facebook, tap on it and then tap clear data.

Note: By clearing app data, the information the app stores will be deleted, for example, your password.

    Reinstall the app

This is possible if Facebook is not one of the pre-installed apps because apps that came with your device cannot be deleted. You can remove the app by tapping on its icon from the Home screen and then dragging it to a trash can, or the "Uninstall" field. You can remove the app by going to Settings > Apps, tap on Facebook and click Uninstall. Once you remove the app, go to Play Store and type "Facebook" into the search box. Download the app again.

The above-mentioned steps usually work. If this doesn't happen, make sure to report the problem you are experiencing. Don't forget that you can always access Facebook using the browser on your Android device.
