Hey sweeties,

I recently ran into a bug with the "Moto Display" feature in Moto E 2015 (3G version).

Ambient display is turned off and Moto Display is turned on.

Even then, I am unable to see the time OR the notifications on the lock screen.

Anyone else facing the same bug?

The notification lock screen will only show by moving the phone. It doesn't work like the Moto X.

You will need to physically move the phone, and it will only work if the phone's sensor detected movement from a still position for about five seconds.

I have tried moving the phone among other things - the Moto display feature just doesn't start. Maybe it's a bug with the Indian 3G version only?

I have the Indian version of Moto E 2015 3G too. I don't have this issue and I have tried reproducing the mentioned steps.

I assume this is a software bug and the best would be for you to perform a factory reset:
  1. From your phone access Menu.
  2. Then, tap on Settings.
  3. From there navigate towards Backup and Reset.
  4. Just select Factory data reset phone option.
  5. Agree with the prompts and with the alerts.
  6. Wait while the factory reset process is being automatically completed.
  7. Reboot your new Moto E when done.
