Like many other important smartphones to be launched this year, Asus Zenfone 3 will be available in several versions. Recently, two of these versions have appeared on the GFXBench website, and the first thing we observed was: Asus is still not making the step towards using QHD screen resolutions and it might quit discard Intel processors in favor of Qualcomm products for the next-generation of Zenfone devices.
The two models are referred as Z010DD and Z012D. According to Phonearena, this is one of the clues which indicates we are dealing with a new Zenfone. The previous generation models were named Z008 and Z00AD. The specifications of Z012D are the best, benefiting from a Full HD screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, and 3GB RAM while for the camera it has 12 megapixels on the back and 5 megapixels on the front.
Although Z010DD has weaker specifications it includes a larger screen, 5.9 inches, with HD resolution. It has the same amount of RAM, but the Snapdragon 650 processor is replaced by a Snapdragon 615.
Given the technical specifications, these devices would be priced between 200 and 300 dollars. Unfortunately, we have no information about the release date yet.
