Since the beginning of 2019, the Chinese smartphone brand Realme has launched some surprisingly incredible phones at affordable prices. The recently released Realme 3 and 5 series, along with the likes of X Pro and XT have confirmed the manufacturer’s strong presence in the budget range smartphone market and brought home a huge user base for the brand. The company’s Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi has now announced its first Snapdragon 855+ powered phone, which will be launched by the end of October in China and a global launch will most likely follow soon.
Realme X2 Pro
The aforementioned Snapdragon 855+ powered phone will be launched as Realme X2 Pro, a successor to the Realme X Pro that was launched earlier this year. The phone is being branded with a “Full Speed Flagship” tagline by the company and has since received a great response online. Given that the Realme X Pro was arguably one of the best budget flagship phones of the year, the bar has already been set pretty high for the X2 Pro. What makes it even more highly anticipated is the fact that no other phone in this price segment has featured the Snapdragon 855+ SoC yet, let alone the 2.96GHz octa-core processor it’s coupled with.
What We Know So Far
The X2 Pro will sport a top-notch quad lens rear camera system which will be powered by Samsung’s GW1 64-megapixel primary sensor that was released recently, along with a 115-degree ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens and a portrait lens for depth effects. The entire setup is reported to have a 20x hybrid zoom capacity. The X2 Pro’s official online page has also announced that new features of the phone will be revealed every day until the 4th of October. Users can also expect the company to reveal the phone’s exact release date on the same day.
Previous reports about the phone have mentioned that it will have a waterdrop notch display, which seems rather odd since the Realme X Pro had a full screen with a pop-up front camera. Another major update on the phone is that it’ll sport a 90Hz refresh rate display, which makes sense since it seems to have become the standard for flagship phones now that we’ve seen plenty of phones with such specifications. The said display will reportedly have a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution confined in a rather tall 20:9 aspect ratio. The X2 Pro is also codenamed as Super Warrior. The battery stats and other info are not known yet, but the phone will have 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology.
There’s no word on when the phone will make its way to India yet. However, users can expect its official announcement along with the release of the upcoming gaming-centric Realme XT 730G.
