We start this Saturday with the surprising and very positive news that, The Division, one of the most expected game from Ubisoft, will not include micro-transactions.

The big news comes from Natchai Stappers, Community Manager at Ubisoft, so it cannot get more official than this.

Prior to this disclosure, there was fear that The Division will include micro-transactions, since it was discovered in the game something called “Phoenix Credits”, which, it was believed that it could be bought with real money, and would provide an opportunity to buy-in game progression advantages.

This speculation was not an exaggeration, since most Ubisoft games that put an emphasis on multiplayer include micro-transactions, sometimes even in ways that alter the game’s balance. For example, in The Crew, you can get Crew Credits that allow you to buy perks beyond the limit imposed by a perk per level.

Details about these Phoenix Credits will be available in the next days.
