An iPhone trio is expected to be launched by Apple in this year’s fall, and a lot of rumors and online leakers suggest one of them is going to be cheaper.
What makes it cheaper?
Even though the current 6.1-inch iPhone has a £999 price, the 2018 version of it will be turned into a budget iPhone.
Some of Apple’s methods to cut costs include the replacement of iPhone X’s OLED screen with an LCD one as it is way cheaper.
Because the LCD screen is not as flexible as the OLED one, the budget iPhone will feature a larger bezel and a more full bottom chin.
But according to new leaks, the bottom will not feature a chin but will indeed have a bigger bezel.
Besides knowing that the LCD iPhone which measures 6.1 inches will be the budget one and will also have a wider border, the border of the OLED screened versions will be narrower and will measure 6.5 inches, respectively 5.8 inches.
The top-notch style displays are also offered by some of Apple’s Android rivals, but their phones feature a bottom chin. For example, Huawei P20 Pro’s chin bezel sports the fingerprint sensor button.
Is the change to dramatic?
After taking into consideration the subtle difference between the OLED and LCD iPhones, the 6.1-inch budget one still impresses us.
For that bezel, you will pay lesser. The price is estimated to be £420 aka $550, so it is worth to accept it. The 5.8-inch iPhone X will feature an OLED screen along with dual cameras similar to the current version.
According to other rumors, Apple will equip the iPhone X Plus with a triple rear camera. This model of the trio will measure 6.5 inches and will sport an OLED screen as well. Its price will be as high as over £1,000, and you decide if it is worth it.
The budget LCD screened iPhone will have the same single lens camera as the actual iPhone 8 as a method to cut costs.
The TrueDepth camera system is expected to be introduced to all three devices enabling the usage of Face ID for security which is also featured on the iPhone X.
After all of this being said, all we need to do now is to wait for their release.
