The Best LibreOffice Is Getting Even Better

If you thought that being the best is enough then you might want to reconsider it. This is how the LibreOffice developers think and considering their latest actions, this is probably the motto who guides their decisions.

What is LibreOffice?

It’s probably the best office suite available on the market. LibreOffice is a project created by The Document Foundation and their inspiration was OpenOffice. Actually there is more to it since the program forked from it a few years ago. LibreOffice is the best right hand you could ever ask for and there are many reasons to that. One of them, and probably the most important one is the fact that it combines all of Microsoft’s work and business software, namely Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.

Another plus would be the fact that the program is free and you don’t have to spend a dime on updates or similar things. The program is equipped with a wide variety of languages as well, 110, to be more precise.

So far it sounds like a dream but it is, in fact, as real as it can be. And now the developers made it even better if that is possible.

The new Update

The developers worked especially on the program’s compatibility. They’ve also added some new features such as the ones regarding Writer and Calc.

  1. Writer

For example, you can now add watermark to your document just by checking the Format Menu. You can also import from Microsoft Word DOTM templates Auto Texts.

  1. Calc

Another feature would be the pivot charts (using pivot tables) now supported by Calc. The developers have even improved the comments section, you can now delete, reply and see them more easily. Some options mean to protect your sheets have been also added in the newest update of the program.

But this is just a glimpse of the great features LibreOffice has. Check them out and see for yourself.
