TENAA Certification for Samsung Galaxy Model SM-G8850:  Possibly Galaxy S9 Mini?

It is believed that the Galaxy S9 Mini is the next compact device to appear on the Galaxy S9 series, with the Samsung G8850 getting certification from TENAA (China) last week. The appearance and some key specs of the model number listed have been revealed.

Features Similar to Galaxy S9

The Samsung G8850 is rumored to be another variant of S9 Mini, to be sold in the Chinese market. The features revealed are a screen of 5.8 inches QHD, with an AMOLED technology screen, which is similar to that of the Galaxy S9. However, the camera at the back as well as the arrangement of the fingerprint sensor is not the same as the Galaxy S9 or the Galaxy S9 Plus.

The processor is an Octa-core one clocking at a speed of 2.8 GHz. This means that Samsung has used the Exynos 9 series, with 9810 SoC, which is similar to the Galaxy S9. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh, which is also the same as that of the Galaxy S9.

Other Rumored Specs of Galaxy S9 Mini

Other rumored specifications about the Galaxy S9 Mini are that it has an internal memory of 4 GB, which can be expanded up to a maximum of 400 GB, using a microSD card. The phone comes with a hybrid, dual SIM card.

The dual rear camera has a resolution of 12 MP with an LED flash feature for the primary,  and 12 MP in case of the secondary rear camera. As for the front camera, there is an autofocus one with a resolution of 8 MP.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini is both water resistant and dust resistant with IP68 certification.

The dimensions of the upcoming device are 147.7 mm x 68.7 mm x 8.4 mm and the weight of the alleged Galaxy S9 Mini is 163 grams.

Design Revealed

The Galaxy S9 Mini will be made of glass, metal combination, similar to the S9 and the S9+. The display is bezel-less. The fingerprint scanner is found embedded at the center on the rear panel, just above the company logo. Both the power button and the volume button are placed on the left, whereas there is a button for Bixby placed on its right.

Color Options

The Galaxy S9 Mini or the Samsung SM-G8850 will be offered in two colors, namely black as well as blue.

The phone has already been certified by the Chinese TENAA, so it seems likely that the Galaxy S9 Mini will be officially announced within the coming few months.

Flagship Phone

Samsung is also in the process of offering a new flagship phone in the Note series. This is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. It is rumored to come with a display of 6.3 inches with Infinity display, 2.0. The chipsets are both the Exynos 9810 along with the Snapdragon 845. The storage is likely to be 6GB of RAM/ 128 GB.

The dual camera setup will be present even in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. According to the latest rumors, the Note 9 will also have a powerful battery of 4000 mAh. The launch of the said device is still some months away, so there might be more details in the offing.
