Nintendo has finally launched Super Mario Run – the app is available in the App Store as of yesterday. Only a few hours after the app release, the highly-awaited game is listed as the top free and top grossing app.
The game was announced in September during Apple’s iPhone 7 event and now, Super Mario Run has finally made its iOS debut. The internet was impatiently waiting for the game, and only a few hours after the release, the app sits at the top of two App Store top charts. It is the top free and top grossing app.
Super Mario Run is free to download and it comes with the in-app purchase. If you want to fully unlock the game, paying $9.99 will make that happen. Once the game is unlocked, you will get the access to six game worlds, along with 3,000 coins and 20 Toad Rally Tickets.
The game includes three main game modes: World Tour, Toad Rally, and Kingdom Builder. In the World Tour, gamers can run and jump to clear 6 worlds and 24 courses in order to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. While playing, you will run through caverns, plains, Ghost houses, castles, etc. In Toad Rally, you can challenge your friends who are playing Super Mario Run as well. You can also challenge the players from all over the world. In Kingdom Builder, you can build your own kingdom by gathering coins and Toads.
The game requires iOS 8 and it is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
The launch of Super Mario Run is important for both companies, Nintendo and Apple. Apple promoted the app in the best ways possible. Let’s not forget the fact the price of the game is $9.99 and Apple gets $3 for every copy, recode.net reported.
At the moment, Super Mario Run is only available for iOS devices. There is no information yet on when the game will be out for Android.
