Conforming to the regular practice of utilizing the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to launch its new devices, Sony is likely to unveil Xperia 1.1 in this year’s MWC in Barcelona, Spain. Now, there are leaks of the camera specifications of this device. This leak, accompanied by a closeup shot of the camera arrangement on the rear panel shows there are five cameras in all. The Penta-camera setup has a 64MP sensor as the largest in the configuration.
Five Cameras in a Vertical Formation
The render accompanying the leak indicates that the sensors are housed inside a vertical tube-like module with the flash located outside. The sequence of placement of these sensors from top to bottom is a 12MP shooter right on top followed by a 64MP sensor. Below the 64MP lens are two sensors placed one beside the other. One is a2MP Time of Flight or ToF camera and next to it is a periscopic unit with the OIS feature. The 12MPwide-angle lens is at the bottom.
Is There a Confirmation that the Sony Xperia 1.1 is the Xperia 5 Plus?
Earlier rumors had suggested that Sony would be launching the Xperia 5 Plus in the MWC 2020. Now that these details have emerged of the Sony Xperia 1.1, it may be safe to assume the devices are the same.
This will be a premium smartphone with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The 6.6-inch OLED display comes with the 4K HDR capability. There will be dual speakers in the front.
There may be more revelations going ahead before the MWC actually kicks off and many of the other details missing here may also be revealed.
