Skype Revamped its iOS App – New Improvements and Changes

Way before WhatsApp or Viber videocalling, or even FaceTime, we all relied on Skype to carry out video chats with friends or family overseas. However, Skype has fallen in the background these days. Personally, I haven’t heard much about it lately, and none of my friends use it anymore because we all have WhatsApp now. But Skype is still very much alive and kicking, and they seem to want to get back on that horse again.

Recently, Skype revealed its new and revamped iOS app, and it’s pretty awesome. The Skype mobile app has been a bit of nightmare in the past years, let’s be real for a second. It wasn’t optimized, it lost its connection at random, it was laggy, buggy, glitchy and an overall nightmare for whoever tried to use it. But not anymore, it seems.

The new Skype now comes complete with chatbots, as well as a Snapchat-esque daily Stories feature that we all know all the trendy apps are doing these days. However, such a feature seems to make more sense on Skype than on other apps, seeing that Skype is a place where we like to keep up with our friends. And what better way to do that, than witness what they’ve been up to?

The best thing about these Skype Stories is that they last one week, not 24 hours, and only users that you follow can see them. This is a good way to maintain your privacy while still sharing important moments, and it’s something that other apps certainly lack. As for the chatbots, personally, I’m not that impressed by them, because I consider all chatbots to be a thing of the past. But I totally get how some other people might find them useful, so I can’t complain too much about it.
