Samsung's Upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Plus Revealed in Leaked Renders

According to reports, the tablet features a 12.4-inch screen size with a resolution of 1752 x 2800 pixels, most likely an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Leaker @OnLeaks has recently shared renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and it appears that the company will stick to its winning formula with this new tablet. The leaked images show a sleek metallic build with sharp edges and a contrasting magnetic strip at the back, similar to its predecessor from the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The bezel size and horizontally positioned selfie camera remain familiar, but the camera lens aesthetics have changed, adopting a floating lens look from the Galaxy S23 flagship phone series.

According to reports, the tablet features a 12.4-inch screen size with a resolution of 1752 x 2800 pixels, most likely an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also reported to be 5.64mm thick, which is significantly thinner than the 10th Gen iPad's 7mm thickness. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus will also have a quad-speaker array, most likely with stereo output.

Unfortunately, the tablet will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, nor will it have support for storage expansion via a dedicated microSD card slot. However, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus looks cleaner than its predecessor, with no alarming changes to the overall design language.

As for the innards, Samsung has yet to release any official information. However, experts predict that Samsung will equip it with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which powers its existing flagship phones, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is also expected to have a higher battery capacity and faster charging output.

The release date for the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is yet to be confirmed, but the best guess is that it will be unveiled at the upcoming Unpacked event in the second half of 2023, along with Samsung's next-gen foldable phones. Unfortunately, no credible leaks have suggested the expected price for the tablet.

Apart from the hardware, the tablet will run on Android 14, which is expected to be in the public beta release phase by the time the Galaxy Tab S9 series hits the shelves. It will be interesting to see what changes Samsung makes on top of Android 14's foundations to design its next major One UI update.
