Samsung Launches A 4 TB SSD, Addressed To Those Who Wish To Abandon The Old Hard Disk

Part of the 850 EVO series, the Solid State device uses vertically stacked NAND technology, i.e. memory chips with up to 48 NAND Flash layers, stacked one above the other, in order to obtain a superior data storage density.

Featuring SATA III interface, Samsung 850 EVO 4 TB, can be installed on any laptop or PC equipped with a 2.5″ slot, offering transfer speeds of 500 MB/s for read/write operations and data access times much superior to conventional hard drives of similar capacity.

Announced at the price of 1349 euros, i.e. a cost of only 33 cents per GB, Samsung 850 EVO will also have a PRO version, offering extra performance at a much higher cost.
