Galaxy S9 was a massive success and it raised the standards for all other flagship smartphones. Apple tried to answer Samsung with iPhone X, but the only thing that Apple’s next-generation iPhone had that Galaxy S9 didn’t, was the Face ID scanner.
Knowing that the competition between Samsung and Apple is a close one, no one should be surprised that Samsung wants to remove the Iris scanner on next year’s Galaxy S10 and to replace it with a unique Advanced 3D face scanning technology.
Advanced 3D Face Scanning
Multiple reports are showing that Samsung has asked its manufacturers to replace the iris scanner with a new technology called advanced 3D face scanning. Moreover, Samsung confirmed that Mantis Vision which is a hardware manufacturing company will be the one in charge of developing and producing the new feature. Therefore, the new feature makes sure that just like iPhone X, Galaxy S10 will unlock when users look at it.
In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
Even though Galaxy S9 is one of Samsung’s bestselling smartphones, the device lacks one feature that fans have been asking for a long time, an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung announced that it tired to create install an in-display fingerprint scanner on Galaxy S9, but the unlocking system wasn’t safe enough and Samsung decided to equip a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner instead.
Rumor has it that Samsung finally managed to create a safer version of the in-display fingerprint scanner and that Galaxy S10 will be the smartphone to sport it. This is a plausible rumor, especially since Samsung needs to come up with new features so that it can give fans a reason to upgrade their Galaxy S9 which is a beast when it comes to hardware specs.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Leaked Specs
Considering that Samsung has yet to launch Galaxy Note 9, the South Korean tech-giant doesn’t want to unveil any details about Galaxy S10’s specs. The reason why Samsung is doing this is that it wants fans to purchase Galaxy Note 9 and not to wait another year for Galaxy S10 to come out.
Fortunately for us and other Samsung fans, the leakster was known as “Ice Universe” somehow managed to get his hands on Galaxy S10’s key hardware specs. With that said, Galaxy S10 will feature a 5.8-inches Super AMOLED display and Qualcomm’s latest generation of Snapdragon processors. Not just that, but the smartphone’s CPU will also be paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
