Currently, Samsung is releasing a firmware update for their three Galaxy devices, namely Galaxy Alpha, J1 Duos and Grand Neo Plus update. The update will come together with the April security patch and it will be gradually rolled out to all three phones.
Naturally, the build numbers are different for each device. For the Samsung Galaxy Alpha device, the update wears the number G850FXXU2CQD2, while for the Galaxy J1 Duos it’s J100MVJU0AQD1. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Grand NEO Plus phone will receive the update under the number I9060IXXS0AQD3.
Besides the monthly security patch that is included in the update, the file also brings some fixes for the regular bugs and some other system improvements. For this reason, it is highly recommended for you to install the update. You should receive it as an over the air one, so you can expect it soon.
In case you haven’t received the notification yet, then you can check manually for it. In this case, you have to go to Settings/ About device/ System updates. If it’s not there yet, give it a couple more days.
More Devices that Received the Security Patch in April
The April security patch was rolled to more than one device recently. Among the devices that also got it we can count the Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy On 7 (the 2016 version), the S4 Value Edition and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE. We know there are still other phones that should receive the update soon, especially since it’s about security updates and other important things.
Generally, it is always a good idea to keep an eye for the most recent releases, and that’s for your phone’s safety. However, you can also use other safety measures if you want to be 100% sure, but you should generally do some research before.
