Among the rumors circulating on the upcoming smartphone models from Samsung, detailed specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip have been missing. The clamshell form factor with the top opening out vertically has been demonstrated through renders and the like. Now, some details are being rumored and with very little time left for the official launch of the device, most of these rumors will get certified for their veracity.
Details on Processor & Camera Spring a Surprise
Being a premium offering, the market expectation was that the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC will be the processor on this second foldable device from Samsung. Max Weinbach, who has been active on Twitter making predictions on the Samsung Galaxy devices, has made a few predictions about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. According to him, Samsung is fitting only the Snapdragon 855+ chipset in this foldable device.

Another prediction he is making is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will sport two 12MP cameras, one of which will be a wide-angle lens. Though the size of the battery finds no mention, the tweet says there will be 15W charging support with wireless charging and reverse wireless too. Some of the other earlier rumored specs like the display being Dynamic AMOLED stand reaffirmed through this tweet. Samsung has used its inhouse ‘Samsung Ultra-Thin Glass’ for the display screen. This was also rumored before.
A capacitive fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side of the device. Though the battery size is not mentioned in the latest tweet, there had been earlier reports that it will be a 3,300-3500mAh.
The other specifications rumored are a 6.7-inch display (when open), a 10MP front camera and two color options of Black and Purple.
For confirmation on all these suggested specifications and features, you will have to wait till February 11 when the Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled.
