Leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 are making headlines on the internet again. But this time, Android Headlines brings us a closer look at the wearables that showcase an exciting range of colors and features.
What changed from the previous render?
In contrast to a previous render, the leaked images show the smartwatch strap to be made of silicone instead of leather. Looks like Samsung is sticking on to the silicone straps from the previous model- Galaxy Watch Active. The previous render also showed a red ring circling the power button which was claimed to point to the LTE variant of the wearable. The current renders do not show any such feature to further the claim.
Apart from the smartwatch renders, renders of the Under Armour edition have also been leaked online by Evan Blass, a well-known Twitterati informant. The leaked images show a similarity in the strap material as the Under Armour edition also carries leather straps.
A series of exciting features
The smartwatch is touted to carry touch-sensitive grooves which will let the user steer around the features in the display. This is an upgrade from the existing Samsung smartwatches where the user must manually access the bezel. The speculated Bluetooth 5.0 feature is definitely set to top the list of exciting features in the smartwatch. If it materializes, it will be the first Samsung Smartwatch to carry the feature.
Other features and specifications
First things first – let’s talk colors! Samsung could add a few more colors in the lineup, but the leaked images show the smartwatch in three exciting matte hues – pale grey, pale pink and black.
The device might also come equipped with a 4GB internal storage capacity. Samsung is also likely to add features surrounding health, like Fall-detection and ECG. The display will likely be a 360*360 resolution Super AMOLED type and may come in two size variants. The 40mm size variant may come with a 1.2-inch display while the 44mm variant might showcase a 1.4-inch display.
The smartwatch will likely possess 768 MB of RAM capacity that will be run by the Samsung-owned Exynos 9110 chip. The smaller of the two models in the Galaxy Watch Active 2’s lineup is expected to be fired up by a 247 mAh battery with the bigger one being fueled by a 340 mAh battery. To offer extra protection, the smartwatch might come encased in Gorilla glass, certified by MIL-STD 810G and 5ATM resistance to water.
Despite the lack of a red ring circling the power button, it is speculated that Samsung will launch the smartwatch in two variants- Wi-Fi-only and LTE.
The official launch date- August 5 isn’t far away. Just three more days until we know if the smartwatch comes with all the above features!
