Samsung Galaxy View 2: The 17.5 inch Tablet Seen on Geekbench May Launch Soon

With the major Samsung event, Galaxy Unpacked 2019 just a couple of weeks away, there is a possibility you may get to see a Samsung tablet, the Galaxy View 2. This may also be unveiled, apart from the flagship smartphones. This is, if you go by the appearance of the tablet carrying a code SM-T927A on the benchmarking site Geekbench, this morning. Interestingly, the tablet had been seen on other platforms like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Alliance earlier. But that was a few months ago. Today, the tablet has been seen on Geekbench, and you can make this assumption that the announcement on the release of the tablet may follow soon.

Moderate Specifications, But Large Display

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy View 2 tablet start with a large 17.5-inch display, a bit too large for a tablet you would think, but when you consider that the company had launched an 18.4-inch tablet in 2015, this is definitely a little less. Samsung has fitted its in-house CPU, the octa-core Exynos 7885 SoC that clocks a moderate speed of 1.59 GHz. The RAM, as evidenced by the Geekbench report as well, will be 3 GB. On the Geekbench, the tablet has scored 1201 on single core and 3988 on multicore. The OS, as indicated on Geekbench, is the Android Oreo, version 8.1.0. Android Oreo was the same OD mentioned in the Wi-Fi Alliance site too earlier.

These factors would indicate that Samsung may be aiming to target a particular user base for this tablet which is not definitely the top-end. It has been seen earlier with the other tablet makers too that they have a product mix that has specific user groups in mind. The education sector is one that is quite large in terms of the number of units it can generate in sales.

The market expects that Samsung may announce a couple of more products in the main event on February 20 or on its sidelines. These could include the foldable phone that everyone is hoping will be announced at the event. Apart from this, a smartwatch too may be on the anvil. The limelight will obviously be on the flagship Samsung Galaxy S10 variants. All these months of rumors and speculations will be put to rest in a matter of 3 weeks.
