Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are yet to hit the stores. Samsung has decided to roll out the update for their flagship smartphones. Those who have pre-booked their Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+ may check their settings and figure out the new March 2018 security patch.

The image of the update was shared on Reddit by ironkid65, which displayed the image of the update which hints that the update will eat up 268 MB space of the smartphone. According to the image displayed on the Reddit, the Samsung update is purely dedicated to the stability of its face recognition or face unlock system as well as the camera functions and system.

Samsung released the same update a week ago in Germany. T-Mobile in the US also ran the same update for its US users. It is believed that Samsung played it smart by releasing an update that affects the camera functions since dual camera in Galaxy S9 is the major selling point for Samsung.

Various tests on Galaxy S9 suggested that video recording gets sluggish and forces a reboot. Also, finger sensors do not function and every time requires restarting the handset. It is believed that to overcome these two flaws, Samsung released the update even before smartphone touches the shelves.

Meanwhile, CNET editors, in their assessment, found that Samsung Galaxy S9 cameras are switching modes quite easily compared to other smartphones. From auto to selfie, and selfie to AR Emoji mode, S9 is quite comfortable in transforming the camera angles and aperture.

Another update strengthens the Face Unlock function on Samsung’s biometric system. It is said that face unlock isn’t as secure as Apple iPhone X’s Face ID for mobile payment. Therefore, in order to match the Apple’s credentials, Samsung hit the ground running before the competition begins that counts Smart Samsung!
