Samsung Galaxy S9 Gets New ClockFace and Always-On Display Features

It has not been long since February when the tech company from South Korea made an announcement regarding the Galaxy S9 when they showed the brand new features that promised a better smartphone than the last one.

The features included a better performance of camera when there were low light and an improvement of the fingerprint scanning after some complaints from the owners of the Galaxy S8. There was also a discussion about the supercharged internals, and they were all seen before the official release in March.

About ClockFace

In comparison to the regular S9, the S9 Plus also gives a larger screen size and also an additional camera. But as of now, the clients of both S9 and S9 Plus will get about 30 new clock faces and will receive huge changes to the Always-On Display of their phones. There’s a new application that was officially released by Samsung, which is called “ClockFace”. It offers the new designs and we think it’s actually pretty cool, as they can be applied both to the Always-On Display and the lock screen.

We’re sure that the new designs will look flawless on the two devices, the regular S9, and the S9 Plus, especially with the AMOLED Infinity Displays. This new app from the South Korean tech company also works with the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S8, and the Galaxy Note 8 gadgets. It’s nice that all of these phones will make the most out of this new feature, but we should mention that this is possible only for those owners whose devices run Android Oreo with Samsung Experience 9.0.

The designs can vary from digital faces which show the time, date and day, to other faces that show a simple approach, only displaying the hands of an analog clock.

How to get the new styles

After the new app gets installed, users will have to go to the menu settings of the phone to get the new clock styles. So all you have to do is go to the Settings, then to Lock Screen and Security, then to Clock And FaceWidgets, then to Clock Style. Now you need to go to the end of the list to see the new things.

Besides the new clock faces, the owners of Galaxy S9 who are lucky enough to get a Snapdragon processor for their devices, but only available for those with US variations of the leader smartphone, will also get support for FM radio.
