Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus Receive First Major Security Update

It’s been three months since Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus hit the markets and the two smartphones have finally received a major security update. Samsung puts a high price of on the security of its users and it usually releases security updates every month. However, Samsung has been busy and neglected Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus but the only thing that matters is that the update is finally available.

Major Security Update

The interesting thing about the new security update is that Samsung didn’t announce it. The update simply started rolling out OTA (over the air) in the US. Therefore, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus should make sure to keep their eyes peeled at their notifications panel because the update prompt should pop-up anytime now.

In addition, we advise Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus owners to download the new update over a stable Wi-Fi connection because it weighs in at 696.28MB. We should also mention that Samsung fans who want to get the new update should make sure have at least 50 percent battery charge so that the smartphone doesn’t shut down in the middle of the updating process.

Manually Check for the Update

If the security update hasn’t appeared yet, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus owners who live in the US can always check for it manually. While this might seem like a complicated task, it’s actually not. The only thing that Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus owners need to do is to open the “Settings” panel and check the “Updates” tab.

Flagship Smartphone

Since we are talking about Galaxy S9, let’s go over the smartphone’s key specs and see what are the features which make it worthy of being called a “flagship” smartphone. Right from the start, Galaxy S9 impresses us with a sleek looking design that’s paired with a 5.8-inches display that uses Super AMOLED technology. The display features a high 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 570.

Powerful Performances

While the Infinity display might look amazing, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 is even more impressive when we take a look under its hood. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset which features eight cores that clock at 2.7GHz. To make things even better, the chipset is paired with an Adreno 630 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.
