Samsung is working very hard to make the release of the S10 as much of a celebratory as possible. It seems that the South Korean company has not stopped short at just adding an under-screen fingerprint sensor (which we are already very much waiting to see in real life), rumors say that the device might come with a sound emitting display as well.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Possible Display
We have heard that the display and the manufacturing division inside the company are working creating displays that emit sound. So what will this technology do for the smartphone? It is meant to help ditch the outdated earpiece and have slimmer bezels in the process, with even more screen space as well. Since Galaxy S10 is going to mark the ten year anniversary of the S line, it is possible that the company might introduce this new technology with this smartphone.
Looking at the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, we can easily see that they are devices with very thin bezels on the top and the bottom. However, these bezels also house the earpiece, the selfie camera, and the sensor. If the sound emitting display technology were to be added to this display, we would see significantly thinner bezels. Thinner bezels mean more screen display space and who are we to say no to that?
First Time This Technology Was Shown
This technology was first brought to the average when the company decided to demonstrate it at SID Expo. SID is short for the Society of Information Displays. This expo took place last month, and it was here that the company decided to showcase the new technology that they have been working on, present a prototype. Since the expo happened, last month and the South Korean company only had a prototype to display then it is safe to assume that it would take them the better part of a year to perfect the technology and add the final touches.
We first got wind of this new display probably being added a short time after the convention ended from a reputable Korean news publication named ET News.
It is interesting to note that Samsung wanted to first add the under-screen fingerprint sensor with the Note 9, but then some problems occurred during production and this technology had to be postponed for the S10. Now, we would not want this to happen but maybe by the time that the S10 finally reaches the production line, the sound emitting display will not be completed, meaning we will have to wait for more until we see it in real life.
