An Alternative to iPhone
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be the top alternative for those who don’t prefer to use the iPhone. It is the latest upcoming flagship from the Korean smartphone giant.
Rumors and Speculations
There have been plenty of rumors about the Galaxy Note 9. The smartphone is still in the stage of development, but the leaks have started pouring in about it.
For one, there are rumors that the Galaxy Note 9 will come with an in display type of fingerprint reader. The screen size of the flagship model will be 6.4 inches. A battery of 4000 mAh will power it. In addition, there are some leaked benchmark rumors stating that the Galaxy Note 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, 845 chipset and it will have a RAM of 6 GB.
The codename of Crown for the latest and upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 9, is probably because Samsung wants to tower above the iPhone. Samsung wants to give a name showing that its smartphone will be better than the successor of the iPhone X.
Other rumors relating to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are that it will come with a fingerprint scanner that is under the screen. This means that the Note 9 will be the first Samsung device from Samsung to offer such a feature. A new patent published by Samsung points to this possibility, as the patent implies that the fingerprint scanner will occupy one-fifth of the screen at the bottom. It vibrates when someone makes a failed authentication and alerts the user.
Under the Wraps
Samsung has done a wonderful job of keeping the Galaxy Note 9 under the wraps, but the rumors have still surfaced and continue to do so. These rumors highlight what the phone will look like, whether it will have an in screen fingerprint scanner and so on.
In Display Fingerprint Scanner
Earlier, Ming Chi Kuo, the analyst at KGI Securities, stated that the Note 9 would come with a design similar to the Note 8. However, the dual camera, as well as the S Pen, will be improved. According to KGI Securities, the trump card of the Note 9 will, however, be the in the display, fingerprint scanner on the Note 9. The smartphone will be shipped with this coveted technology for authentication.
Ming Chi Kuo has a great record in predictions and he had revealed that the Note 9 would come with this technology for the fingerprint scanner. With the latest technology, the user can unlock the phone just by resting the finger on the Infinity display.
Fingerprint Sensor Plans Cancelled?
However, the KGI Securities analyst later said that the technology is not yet ready or refined for being used in a flagship smartphone. It might not, therefore, be present in the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 after all and might be canceled, as both ultrasonic and optical solutions might not be able to cope with the technical requirements.
