Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Will Get Rid of Headphone Jack, Earpiece and the SD Card Slot

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Will Get Rid of Headphone Jack, Earpiece and the SD Card Slot

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is heading to the stores possibly in the next two months if rumors are to be believed. It might be great news for some and disappointing for many because several features such as the headphone jack and the SD card slot are about to be removed forever.

The brand new renders of the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 phone released online look gorgeous. The display is completely free of any disturbances and there’s not even the earpiece that you would use to make phone calls. Instead, the company is going with a sound on display technology which is quite similar to how fingerprint scanner works on a display.

Above all, the headphone jack which has been something that nearly no other flagship phone had in the past few years except for Samsung’s Galaxy S series models is finally going away. Apple has  convinced everyone to get rid of the 3.5mm audio jack and let’s hope it’s for the good. The render, even though not official, also denotes that the company will get rid of the infamous Bixby button and it wouldn’t be an issue as most users were not happy with it in the first place.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will also remove the micro SD card slot that allowed users to easily expand the storage space. Considering how most phone companies and users have stopped relying on the SD card slot with default storage space, this shouldn’t be a big problem.

Contradicting Information

In another tweet by Max Weinbach of xda-developers, it looks like the headphone jack is not going away anytime soon. The information is contradicting the renders which show that the Note 10 will remove the jack. Some other changes that you will be able to spot in the new phone include much smaller bezels, the power and volume button will be on the left side. Instead of the punch hole camera on the sides, they will be placed in the center on the Galaxy Note 10.

It is being said that the removal of buttons and the ports will make the newer phablet more durable. Besides, it also allows Samsung to join Google and Apple that have been selling phones without micro SD slots for years now.
