Samsung Galaxy Note 10 New Leak: No QHD Display, Better Water resistance

Tech enthusiasts and news portals around the world have their eyes set on the launch of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone – The Samsung Galaxy Note 10, which will be launched on 7th August. However, over the course of the last couple of months, so many renders and news related to the phone have been leaked, that if all of them are true, there will hardly be anything left for Samsung to launch.

Even now, with only 6 days left to the official launch, surprising news has been leaked about the Note 10. In a recent tweet, a twitter leaker has revealed some new tidbits about the upcoming Galaxy Note 10, like super-fast wireless and wired charging, along with a main 12 MP camera which will have an f/1.5 aperture.

All Samsung Galaxy Note10 Series phones will have the Super Fast Wireless & Wired Charging. Also, it will have a new IP69 Water Resistant Rating. The main 12MP will have f/1.5 as the lowest aperture. No QHD Display

If the tweet is to be believed, then the Galaxy Note 10 will not have a QHD display; instead, users will have to settle for a Full HD+ resolution. This reveal seems a bit a hard to digest, as well as pretty disappointing since every Samsung Galaxy Note handset launched after 2014 (after Galaxy Note 3) came with a QHD display. Obviously, nothing is confirmed yet, so we shouldn’t take this leak to be a 100% true.

Moreover, Samsung will be launching Note 10 as well as Note 10 Plus together, so maybe the screen resolution change on the standard Note 10 is to differentiate between them in a few ways.

Better water resistance

Another interesting piece on information that has been shared in the tweet is that both the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus will come with an enhanced IP69 dust and water resistance rating. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Galaxy Note 9 had an IP68 rating. The ‘6’ in the rating code stands for dust protection, and 6 is the highest grade yet, which makes a device totally dust-tight.

According to the Enclosure Company, a 6 rated device will have “Full protection against dust and other particulates, including a vacuum seal, tested against continuous airflow.” However, there is an increase in the second digit though. The note 10 has got a ‘9’ for water resistance, which can be technically defined as “protection against high-pressure, high-temperature jet sprays, wash-downs or steam-cleaning procedures.”

While some aspects of this new leak seem exciting, some seem disappointing and intriguing. As of now, we can’t confirm or deny any of this. However, the good news is that there are only 6 days left for the official launch day of the Note 10 series, where all the details will be confirmed by Samsung officially. Stay tuned to remain updated on all the news from the New York launch event as soon as it breaks out.
