Samsung has opened up a range of slots to position its smartphone offerings. If the Galaxy S series flagships are at the top of the pegging order, the Galaxy Note series to be launched later in the year comes a close second. The Galaxy A series was expanded in 2019 to offer nine models, A10 to A90. There were also the Galaxy M series budget phones that Samsung launched this year with a focus on the Indian market. The reports now are that the company is readying itself to launch the successor models, the Samsung Galaxy M11 and M31. These may be the smartphones to be out in the market in 2020, after the Samsung Galaxy A51 announced on December 12.
Likely Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy M11 and M31
It is speculated that the South Korean company may follow a similar numbering pattern for the A and M series smartphones. After the A10 to A90, we may see A11 to A91 and similarly, the new phones in the M series are to be called the Samsung Galaxy M11 and M31. The internal product codes for these phones are SM-M115F and SM-M315F respectively.
There is no official confirmation on the detailed specifications that these models will be sporting. However, there are rumors about what to expect at least in respect to the Samsung Galaxy M31. The phone is predicted to be fitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC processor. There is bound to be an equivalent Exynos processor for specific markets. At this stage, it can only be speculated upon based on what was fitted in the predecessor model. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy M30 model has the Exynos 7904 processor. The new Galaxy M31 smartphone is expected to have 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage support. For the optics department, the rumor is that it will be a triple camera setup in the rear with a 48MP primary shooter. The other two sensors are likely to be a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor.
Other Galaxy M Series Phones in the Lineup
The rumors also indicate that besides the Galaxy M11 and M31, the company is lining up the Samsung Galaxy M21 and M41 as well. These reports suggest the Galaxy M41 may sport the Exynos 9630 processor and the primary shooter in the triple camera setup will be the 64 MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 lens, Samsung’s own production.
On the launch dates for these devices, the educated guess is that the Samsung Galaxy M11 and M31 may be out in January 2020, going by the fact that their predecessors, the Galaxy M10 and M30 were released in January 2019.
