The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has hit the stores in April 2016, while the Asus Zenfone 3 Max was released in August 2016. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide which device is perfect for you.

Designs

The Galaxy J5 2016 measures 145.8×72.3×8.1mm and weights 159 grams. This mid-ranger comes with a removable plastic cover available in colors such as White, Black, Gold, and Rose Gold, which is curved on edges, while the frame is made of metal. On the other hand, the Zenfone 3 Max is thicker and lighter, as it measures 149.5×73.7×8.6mm and weights 148 grams. Unlike its previous siblings, this model has a full metal body that’s curved on edges, and there are two horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the back. The available colors for this phone are Titanium Grey, Glacier Silver, and Sand Gold.

Displays

Both devices come with a 5.2-inch display, but the Galaxy J5 2016 has a super AMOLED panel, while Asus has equipped the Zenfone 3 Max with an IPS LCD one. The two displays support a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 282 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Galaxy J5 2016 features a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 306 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The Zenfone 3 Max comes with a Mediatek MT6737M chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.25GHz, a Mali-T720MP2 graphics card and 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

Storages

The Galaxy J5 2016 has an internal storage of 16GB, while the Zenfone 3 Max comes in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB. However, both devices feature a microSD card slot that allows you to expand to storage up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

Both handsets sport a primary camera of 13MP that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP.

Batteries

The Galaxy J5 2016 is powered by a removable battery of 3100 mAh, which is much weaker than the non-removable battery of 4130 mAh that the Zenfone 3 Max comes with.
