Latest news on the Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus, an upcoming Android budget smartphone, comes in the form of information released in the official Samsung website in Indonesia. This puts an end to rumors about the Galaxy A6 and the A6+, as both the phones from the Korean giant have been fully featured on this Indonesian site.
It is already known that the model numbers of these devices from Samsung are SM-A600FN and SM-A605G which are nothing but the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ that are going to be launched soon. The two models had been seen in several benchmarking websites in the recent past.
Renders and Listing
Samsung has finally revealed complete details about the Galaxy A6 and the A6+ after rumors have been floating around for a long time. The two phones have been recently listed on TENAA, the official certification site of China. However, the two phones have not yet been launched. The complete specifications of the devices which were previously listed on this site have now been confirmed in the new listing on the official Samsung website of Indonesia. However, from TENAA, we have the images clearly indicating the design of the phones.
The popular Twitter leakster @OnLeaks released a few rendered images of both the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6 Plus. as well. Here are the renders of the A6 and the A6 Plus.
Elegance and Style
The Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ sport seamless lines and an elegant style, offering a comfortable grip as well. The fingerprint sensor is conveniently located, offering an infinite display using Super AMOLED technology. The renders show both the phones having a metallic design with the infinite display.
The Galaxy A6 includes a 5.6 HD screen whereas the A6+ has a bigger 6 inches FHD+ display. The A6+ has a higher pixel density of 1080×2220, whereas the A6 has a smaller pixel density of 720×1480 pixels.
The Galaxy A6+ is bigger with dimensions of 160.2 x 76.2 x 7.8 mm, whereas the Galaxy A6 is smaller at 149.9 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm. Both the devices sport features of face recognition and fingerprint scanner.
Similar in Design
The Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ both look similar in design. Both have a flowing design, but the other hardware specifications do vary a bit. The Galaxy A6+ is naturally the higher end model.
The Galaxy A6 comes with antenna strips visible on the upper and lower portions, on the back panel. This is similar to the Galaxy J series that were recently launched by Samsung. Samsung is probably planning to launch the Galaxy A6 as Galaxy J8 in some markets.
The color options for the Galaxy A6 are Gold and Blue as well as Black.
Stunning Photography Made Easy
The A6 has a single rear camera, whereas the A6+ has a dual rear camera setup. You can adjust the DoF for a bokeh effect while taking a picture and also after taking it. There is also a Live Focus feature for images, where you can add differently shaped soft lights. However, the Live Focus feature is only available for the Galaxy A6+.
The Galaxy A6 has a 16 MP sensor and f/1.7 aperture, whereas the A6+ comes with two sensors. The primary one is 16 MP having an aperture of f/1.7, and the secondary sensor is 5 MP having f/1.9 aperture.
The front camera is a 16 MP one for the A6 and a 24 MP resolution for the A6+. The selfie camera has an LED flash and Selfie Flash that can be adjusted and offers amazing selfies even in low light conditions.
Samsung’s A6 will be powered by the company’s own Exynos 7870 chip, which is supposed to consume around 30% less power when compared to the earlier version. As for the Galaxy A6+, it will be using the Qualcomm, Snapdragon 625 chip. Both are integrated with an octa-core processor clocking at 1.8 GHz for the Galaxy A6+ and a lesser 1.6 GHz for the Galaxy A6.
The internal storage on the A6+ is 32 GB, which can be expanded up to 400 GB using a microSD. With the A6, the internal memory is the same 32 GB, but it can only be expanded up to 256 GB. The RAM on the Galaxy A6+ is 4 GB, with the RAM on the A6 being 3 GB.
The two devices are the first ones to come with a micro USB instead of the USB Type C port.
Both the phones have already been awarded the WiFi Certification for WFA. When a smartphone gets such certifications, it means that it will be launched soon. The certification confirms that the phone will come with dual sim support.
The Galaxy A6+ has a bigger battery at 3500 mAh, whereas the Galaxy A6 runs on a 3000 mAh battery.
Bixby: Your Personal Assistant
Both the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ come with Bixby, personal assistant support. This is Samsung’s own personal assistant. Bixby can help users remember an appointment and search and find information that they want. Bixby can also help them find helpful applications or any other content that they are looking for. Bixby is capable of learning the daily routines of a user and makes life simple for them.
It is natural that the Galaxy A6 will be priced lower than the Galaxy A6+. It is rumored that the A6+ will be priced at around 360 euros to 400 euros, whereas the A6 will be lower at around 300 euros to 340 euros. In addition, another Twitter source also offers full specifications of the A6 and the A6+ along with the anticipated prices.
Release Date and Regions
It seems that an immediate launching of the two devices, the A6, and the A6+ is very much on the cards, as there’s information pouring in from different corners. It is expected that there will be some more leaks and renders as the launching date of the two devices comes closer. However, Samsung has not offered any official statement on the launch of the Galaxy A6 and the Galaxy A6+ till now.
The two devices are likely to be launched in three markets, to begin with: Europe, in Russia and in Middle East countries. However, it is not known whether the UK will be included in the European launch, though very often the UK is included.
It looks like there is no immediate launch for Samsung’s home market, that is, South Korea and China. There is also no news about the launch in Asian markets and in the US or Canada.
The launch is also expected soon, as the two Samsung Smartphones, the Galaxy A6, and the Galaxy A6+, were spotted on the company’s Polish site.
