Though Samsung had announced only 9 smartphones with monikers A10 to A90, it appears the South Korean company is working on a new model, the Samsung Galaxy A51. The leaks coming from India suggest that the company is manufacturing this smartphone in its facility just outside the capital Delhi. The phone may be out in the market only in the early part of next year. The model has been sighted on the benchmarking site Geekbench with the moniker Samsung SM-A515F.
Some Changes in Specs from the Galaxy A50
This Geekbench listing and other leaks suggest that Samsung has retained much of the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A50 in the Galaxy A51 such as the Exynos 9611 processor and the GPU Mali-G72 MP3. The RAM is likely to be 4 GB and the storage onboard will either be 64 GB or 128 GB. The operating system would be Android 10 with the One UI 2.0 being the skin running over it. Samsung has just unveiled the One UI 2.0 this week at the SDC19 and should be ready when the phone is released.
The camera section is being tipped to be well-equipped with four sensors. The primary shooter will be 32MP and the other three will comprise a 12MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens and a 5MP depth sensor. The telephoto lens will have a 2x optical zoom. The leaks also suggest that Samsung will release this phone in three distinct colors of silver, black and blue.
No Launch Date Confirmation Yet
Though the report claims that Samsung’s India facility has started the manufacture of the Samsung Galaxy A51, there is no clarity yet on when this device would be launched exactly except the guess that it could be next year. The report estimates that the Samsung Galaxy A51 may be priced at just below the $300 mark. The company may choose to begin by selling the phone in the Indian market but it could be made available in the other markets too.
The only factor to be considered is that Samsung releases its models in markets like the US and Europe with the Qualcomm chipset and not the Exynos SoC. If the new Galaxy A51 is launched in these markets, it is not known right now which Qualcomm processor will be chosen.
You will have to wait till the company makes an official announcement about the Samsung Galaxy A51.
