Donovan Sung, the product management director of Xiaomi had discussions on Twitter last month about the launch of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, which was made official along with the image released recently. Xiaomi posted an image of a teaser on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.
It is rumored that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S smartphone will have dual cameras supported by AI/AR functions. That precisely means Mi Mix 2S is going to have cameras that may have fast focusing as well as slow-motion video shoot feature.
There have been talks about the speed of the Xiaomi cameras in the earlier smartphones and slow process. The fire got another barrel of fuel when the smartphone maker posted another image in a short time. The fresh set of images strengthen the belief that Mi Mix 2S cameras will be faster compared to its previous avatars.
The leaked documents show that Xiaomi is planning to place multi-frame synthesis technology alongside quality improvements for a night shoot. Thanks to the leaked design of firmware, it is revealed that Mi Mix 2S will have HDR synthesis method, which is completely new.
It is only a matter of speculation if the leaks are planned or genuine, but the facts remain that Mi Mix 2S will be equipped with AI-driven dual cameras. The speculations got stronger when Mi Mix 2S camera samples were leaked online.
Those who hinted about dual cameras also claimed that Mi Mix 2S may produce support for 960 fps. The speculations are also making rounds about Mi Mix 2S having Sony IMX 363 sensor. With so many leaks and speculations, it is clear that Xiaomi aims to offer unimaginable photography experience with the Mi Mix 2S.
As far as the usual specifications are concerned, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will certainly have a 6.01-inch FHD+ display and 6GB and 8GB RAM. It is most likely to run on Android Oreo with a battery capacity of 3400 mAh.
Although Xiaomi was expected to come up with Mi Mix 3 as a potential successor to Mi Mix 2, with the launch of Mi Mix 2S, it is unlikely until October.
